Ben Barton Recognized with Paul Harris Fellowship

We are pleased to announce that the Hopkinton Rotary Club has recognized Barton Insurance President Ben Barton with a Paul Harris Fellowship. The presentation of a Paul Harris Fellowship is The Rotary Foundation’s way of expressing its appreciation for a substantial contribution to its humanitarian and educational programs.

The Fellowship is named for Paul Harris, who founded Rotary with three business associates in Chicago in 1905. The Fellowship was established in his honor in 1957 for a contribution of $1,000.00. The Foundation programs include an array of projects that save and invigorate the lives of people around the world and enhance international friendship and understanding. Foundation programs also provide educational opportunities, food, potable water, health care, immunizations, and shelter for millions of persons. These activities are funded, implemented, and managed by Rotarians and Rotary clubs around the globe. Rotarians also designate a Paul Harris Fellow to recognize another person whose life demonstrates a shared purpose with the objectives and mission of The Rotary Foundation to build world peace and understanding.

Believing that Ben’s life exemplifies the humanitarian and educational objectives of The Rotary Foundation, the members of the Hopkinton Rotary Club selected him to receive this honor, stating that his “generous contributions to the various charitable and service organizations in the communities of Hopkinton and New London are gratefully received and will help in aiding or improving the lives of others.”

Congratulations to Ben, and thank you to the Hopkinton Rotary Club for this honor!
